To Paris…
July 5th, 2009 by Sam Michelson

On Tuesday we fly to Paris – my wife and 7 kids! This is a two day stop on the way to dropping them all off in Los Angeles for the summer.
Then I head back to the Est coast for meetings in Washington and New York. Then back to Israel.

Three weeks later I head back to Los Angeles again.

Any advice on what to do in Paris with a bunch of kids?

Hire a babysitter?

Seriously, the city is lovely and there is lots to see, both indoors and outdoors. Of course you will want to see the Eiffel Tower, but there’s also the Tuileries Gardens in town and the gardens at the Versailles Palace out of town (reachable by train, I believe). The Louvre is vast and has both sculptures and paintings, but the sculptures may not be climbed upon (unlike the ones we saw in Limassol). Personally, I would go to Musée d’Orsay which has exquisite Impressionist art and sculpture. I think it might be more interesting to children because they can see and understand impressionism and the colors and scenes are pleasing. A walk along the Seine is nice. Remember to take plastic cups. Buying a large bottle of drink is always a lot cheaper than buying individual drinks. And have a great time!

You really should be taking along your sister and her husband and kids. Then your adult to kid ratio would be better. Instead of 2:7, you’d have 4:9, almost an adult for every two kids!
Not to mention the fact that Chani thinks Kinneret is a super-cool toy.
